Pictures The Green Mile is known for its devastating ending that almost makes the movie too sad to finish. However, Isabel Merced who played Jubilee ( Transformers: The Last Light) and Shameik Moore who played Stuart ( Dope and The Get Down) had great chemistry and really sold the romance, despite the story departing from the book. The book has an even sadder ending Warner Bros. Netflix took an achievable, cute romance and turned it into something off Wattpad. One of the major shifts in the film is the inclusion of a queer a love story between two young women, Dorrie (Liv Hewson) and Kerry (Anna Akana). Believe it or not, a YA book is already targeted to young adults, so the plot doesn’t need to be changed even more to fit a certain fangirl demographic. As is the case in many adaptations, there are some differences in the Netflix version of Let It Snow, which stars Kiernan Shipka and Shameik Moore and starts streaming on Nov. Once again: Let It Snow was a collaboration between John Green, Maureen Johnson, and Lauren Myracle, three young adult authors who were all friends living in New York City at the time. This may not seem significant, but I don’t understand the need for this. The big difference is that JP is either just a friend of the two (book) or he’s a possible love interest for Angie (movie), which causes issues for the trio.

Firstly, in the Jubilee storyline (my favourite from the book) the film switched the roles of Jubilee and Stuart – making him the outsider who meets someone from the town, rather than Jubilee. In both the film and the novel, the famous words are said skin as white as snow, lips as red as blood, hair as black as ebony this line has a lot more to. In the Disney movie: First, the story is set in the 1800s. However, I felt that this film changed too many unnecessary things. I understand, for production reasons, why some plots/scenes may have need to be changed - sometimes fictional scenes, not made for the screen, just aren’t do-able.
